The olive oil of "El Clot" named the best extra virgin olive oil in the province of Alicante in 2024
Today we would like to introduce you to one of the essentials of our gastronomy, which is the extra virgin olive oil that we produce directly at Servigroup Hotels to dress our salads and other dishes in which this liquid gold takes on a special role.
In our "El Clot" Farm, located in Villajoyosa (Alicante), next to other olive groves that Servigroup owns in the vicinity of the estate and next to emblematic hotels such as the Hotel Montíboli, very close to the sea, olives of extraordinary quality are grown in a sustainable way which serve as raw material for this precious delicacy that, in addition, is traditionally made in the oil mill of the area. A process that is jealously monitored by our dear Gaspar Manero, responsible for the agricultural care of the estate.
Alejandro Benito, director of advertising and communication at Servigroup Hotels, explains in Benidorm, for example, it is a real privilege to have in hotels such a rich oil that has been made just a few kilometres away. Customers find in the salad buffet a very careful selection of vinegars and olive oils, among which ours always stands out, that of "El Clot", which has been awarded with honours this year.
Last January, at the XII Provincial Gastronomic Fair of Orxeta, a charming municipality in the Alicante mountains overlooking the bay, the extra virgin olive oil of Servigroup Hotels won the 1st Prize in the category of EVOOs made organically in the province of Alicante for its fruity flavour. intense and rich.
The "El Clot" Estate, a unique case in the tourism sector at a national level
With more than 10 hectares that include 14,000 m2 of greenhouses in which work is carried out following the principles of organic farming, the "El Clot" Farm is one of the most visible examples of the excellent quality of the gastronomic offerings of Servigroup Hotels. Gaspar Manero leads a team that takes care of the fruit trees and crops throughout the year to achieve the best flavour: we work as we have done all our lives, as our elders taught us, harvesting the best seasonal products at all times, leaving aside the chemical agents that denature the normal cycle of the harvests and, With all this, the result is noticeable.
In addition, the "El Clot" Farm is part of numerous programs of the Generalitat Valenciana aimed at preserving the model of sustainable agriculture with the firm purpose of contributing to face two great challenges such as the climate emergency and a healthy and sustainable diet for the population of our land. Thus, hand in hand with the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development, Climate Emergency and Ecological Transition, we monitor the care of our olive trees, ensuring that everything is worked on naturally, within the II Valencian Plan for Agroecological Transition.
