The Hotels Servigroup Castilla and Servigroup Calypso awarded for their Christmas decorations

The Servigroup Castilla and Calypso Hotel in Benidorm once again, for another year have been awarded for their Christmas decoration during the gala awards ceremony of the popular Christmas design contest, organized by the Benidorm Town Council, who celebrated this year, Its twenty-third edition. The event took place on December 21st and was attended by around 200 people, in the auditorium Benidorm.

The colourful scene of the Hotel Castilla with its theme based on the traditional story of Hansel and Gretel caught the attention of the jury for its originality. This included giant candy canes, sweets, biscuits and gingerbread men and woman, as well as the cottage itself with the witch sat by the fireplace. Also a Christmas tree of 2, 10 meters in height, constructed with 690 nails and 2,200 meters of white thread with coloured lights inside. The hotel won the third prize of the competition in the category of hotels and had previously received two first prizes, one in 2006 and one in 2015.

For its part, the Servigroup Calypso won a special award for the scenic contribution, with a recreation of the North Pole in the reception area with artificial snow, a large artisan igloo with blocks of cork, penguins and polar bears. Father Christmas himself with his sleigh, also a mailbox in the hotel so that children can deposit their letters and requests. It is the third time that the Servigroup Calypso has been recognised, and was previously awarded in the 2014 and 2015 editions.

During the gala, the director of the Hotel Servigroup Calypso, Miguel Ángel Ballesteros, presented on behalf of Servigroup a prize for the best shop front window dressing, consisting of a stay at the Hotel Servigroup Marina Playa de Mojácar. Servigroup collaborates every year with the contest by providing one of the prizes, consisting of a stay of two days in one of their hotels.

A new addition to the gala this year was a performance from the Choir of the Benidorm Housewives association and ended with an emotional act in which the audience released white balloons outside the town hall.
