José María Caballé awarded by the University of Alicante for his professional career
The University Institute of Tourism Research (IUIT) of the University of Alicante awarded on November 24th the business career of José María Caballé, president of the Servigroup Hotel chain, with 46 years of experience in the sector and who manages 16 hotels and 9.000 beds on the Costa Blanca, Murcia, Almeria and Castellon as well as a hotel in Columbia.
The event took place at the University of Alicante, presided by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor for International Relations of the U.A., Juan Llopis, accompanied by the Vice President of Alicante County Council, Eduardo Dolón. Moments prior to the award ceremony, the Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Tourism of the University of Alcala, Mº Jesús Such, intervened with an interesting view on the new challenges in the Spanish Hotel Sector.
According to the panel of judges, Caballé is one of those responsible for the extraordinary success of a destination such as Benidorm. His philosophy is based on offering the best value for money and product refinement, achieving a high level of satisfaction and customer loyalty.

The IUIT annual tourism awards ceremony dates back to 2011, the time in which it took over from the Official School of Tourism in the task of the yearly presentation of this recognition for companies or individuals of the tourism sector.
Servigroup Hotels is closely linked to the University of Alicante since virtually all its hotel managers have taken a “Master’s Degree in restaurant management and Hotel Food & Beverage”, aimed at management professionals of the hotel and catering industry and restaurant business managers, developing the way to manage hotels.
