The Servigroup Marina Mar hotel with the Comedy Chef and the Indalo Race
The weekend of the 19th to the 21st of May, our Hotel Servigroup Marina Mar was the protagonist of two events that gave a special touch to the Almeria town of Mojácar. These two very different celebrations, which in turn gave our hotel in Mojácar the usual fusion of art, sport and fun, which is always characteristic in Servigroup.
We are talking about the popular Comedy Chef, and the increasingly popular Indalo Race.
This special event consists of bringing together an explosive combination of activities related to the area of gastronomy and an attractive variety of shows in which a series of outstanding comedians and magicians, national and international set the tone. Among them, the Antonio Villemar from Alicante, who participated in the Goya Awards Gala 2017, as well as Joel, known for the popular program Got Talent from Spanish channel Tele 5
Also, adding their grain of sand to this event, with monologues, where Miguel Kalderas and Marco Antonio, very well known in the Andalusian comedy field.
The popular Comedy Chef Event at the Hotel Marina Mar included a series of cooking courses and several tasting sessions, both with attractive and succulent dishes as well as the best cocktails and gin tonics were prepared for the event.
There were also different cooking workshops, which were particularly prominent, relating to exotic sushi, desserts and gluten-free cuisine.
In this year’s edition, we added an important slot, which was easy cooking workshops for children, as well as other activities focused on children.
In addition, the Marina Mar was attended by a number of distinguished chefs from the Spanish culinary scene, such as the Michelin star holder Antonio Carlos Nicolás, from Restaurant Alejandro in Roquetas de Mar, as well as the winner of the award for Best Restaurant in Andalusia, Juan Moreno.
Also, a success was the Fake out food workshop, which was given by the Hotel Marina Mar Chefs from the kitchen and show cooking, David Rubio and Jose Callejas. Other highlights were the macrobiotic cooking workshop given by the chefs of the Marina Playa, Paco Guevara and Diego Cazorla.
At the end of the Comedy Chef 2017, the organization announced that for next year, the event would be held again at the Hotel Servigroup Marina Mar.
The Indalo Race in Mojácar
On Saturday, 20th May, the Indalo Race was held. Their where two different distances: 5 and 12 kilometers, in both men's and women's categories.
The organizers marked a route that crossed the coast of the Almeria town, and departed from the new promenade of the Mojácar Beach. The route passed through narrow mountain trails with a high slope on the cliff, passing also by the popular Torre del Peñón. The final point of the race was the Playa de Macenas, especially known for its Tower Macenas.
In the men’s 12km category, the winners were Sergio Sangabino, Rafael Parrado and Carlos Ortiz. As for the woman’s part of this category, the winners were Gema Contreras, Mili Rico and Mariola Mesa.
In the men's 5km category, the winners were Daniel Garcia, Juan Marcos San Martín and Ricardo Penella. As for the women of the 5km category, Débora Naval, from Benidorm, Carolina Rodríguez and Noelia García took the podium.
Saturday's Indalo Race 2017 culminated in the afternoon, with classes of Cardiobox on the pool terrace of the Hotel Servigroup Marina Mar.
As for Sunday, there were three hiking trails in the Indalo Race. These routes consisted of treks of 31, 21 and 13.5 km, in which participants were accompanied at all times by monitors and guides.
Thus, closed a weekend in which the best gastronomy, comedy and sport was definitely a date not to be missed.
