The Servigroup Papa Luna chosen as one of the best hotels in Peñíscola
Hotel Servigroup Papa Luna in Peñíscola is considered one of the top five hotels on the Peñíscola coast, according to the annual ranking of Trivago, which rates the most sought after destinations online.
Under the heading " Favourite summer destinations for Spanish holidaymakers” Trivago Publishes the five most sought after destinations in Spain, which put the coastal towns of Benidorm, Peñíscola, Salou, Conil and Torremolinos amongst the preferred areas to enjoy the summer holidays.
Apart from its long sandy beaches, an old town with charming houses the iconic castle-fortress of Papa Luna and quality hotels, the town of Peñíscola this year has also been launched in the national and international scene after the filming of the incredible blockbuster "Game of Thrones", which has seen a large influx of visitors wanting to visit the places where scenes from several episodes of season six of this popular series were filmed.
Other prestigious internet portals such as Booking.com and Trip Advisor (two of the leading websites to collect opinions about the hotel industry and have a database of millions of opinions from guests) have also given, high scores to Servigroup, rewarding the sixteen hotels that make up the Servigroup hotel group, chaired by businessman Jose Maria Caballé.
Booking.com this year has awarded high scores to all Servigroup hotels, with an average score of 8.5 points. Trip Advisor for its part has granted certificates of excellence to all sixteen hotels. The award, which has been running for six years, awards the hotel business for good reviews and positive feedback received from travellers.
Hotel Servigroup Papa Luna was acquired in the 70s by the Servigroup Hotels chain. Since then the hotel has undertaken several changes, renovating its facilities at the same time increasing its category this year reaching the "superior" category within the four star rating.
The hotel facilities include 551 rooms of different types among which are panoramic, with breath-taking views over the castle and the sea, a full Wellness Centre, two restaurants, bars, ballrooms, kids club and a terrace with a lively atmosphere.
It is located on the beach and just 400 meters from the old town, exalted by its impressive and historic castle, which was inhabited in the Middle Ages by the controversial Papa Luna (Pope Benedict XIII).
It is also ideal for sports, because of its proximity to the natural park of Sierra de Irta it offers visitors endless options to practice cycling and hiking along the many paths of its mountains, where no shortage of beautiful routes run parallel to the sea, cliffs, coves and beaches give us nature at its best.
